Let’s say you see a guy, he’s attractive, and you want to speak to him. What should your first move be?

You know the answer – to look over.

As simple as this sounds, and despite the fact that every woman knows this, so many manage to get this wrong.

I often say that it’s the simplest things that people get wrong, and this is where many women really can lose someone before they say ‘hello’.

The mistake women make…

Many women will look over at a guy for a fraction of a second, convince themselves he got the message, and say to themselves, “he knows!”.

He doesn’t know.

Men are TERRIBLE at reading body language cues. We are not as good as you at figuring these things out, and what you consider to be an obvious signal, we interpret as you looking for the bathroom, the bar, at anything but us.

We need a bigger signal than just one look… we need you to look again.

Before we move onto the second look, let me be clear in the mechanics of the first.

The first look can be very quick, and its intention is to register the simple fact that ‘you exist, I exist’. That’s it. Don’t expect a guy to waltz straight over to introduce himself just yet.

Following on from this the second look differs in that you might add a slight smile –something that gives a little away (but nothing TOO crazy).

The second look wants to communicate ‘I’m curious’. It doesn’t say ‘I like you’, but it shows that there’s intrigue.
